Rice Pairings

HuLi (V) (S)

Often referred to as ‘aruchavitta Sambar’ in Tamil, our house blend of freshly roasted ‘huLi pudi’ (spice powder) with coconut and tamarind are cooked with seasonal vegetables and Toovar lentils. Some traditional vegetable combinations are fresh seasonal greens-chickpea, moringa leaves-cowpea, tender jack-chickpea etc..Best paired with plain rice.

Majjige HuLi (S)

Spiced buttermilk based gravy with vegetables (okra/ash gourd) to be relished with plain rice

Sihi Koottu (V)

A lentil heavy gravy to be had with plain rice, rotti or chapathi. Freshly ground coconut, cumin, curry leaf paste with ash gourd/bottle gourd

Tomato Saaru (S)

A light, nourishing broth flavored with our very own traditional recipe of roasted, ground whole spices. Whole mustard, cumin, asofoetida spluttered in ghee for a final tempering. Best enjoyed with plain rice.

Mosaru sasive

Minced cucumber mixed with a freshly ground paste of coconut and mild green chillies. Goes well with any of our flavored rice dishes like Bisibele Bhath, Pulav or Chitranna
